WORK BEGINS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE RESIDENCE FOR THE ELDERLY IN EL CAÑAVERAL

We began work on a residence for the elderly located in the neighborhood of El Cañaveral in Madrid, a newly created area in the east of the municipality with a great need for new facilities.

The construction consists of a building with 133 single rooms and 16 double rooms for a total of 149 units, and 165 residential places, distributed over five floors.

On the fourth floor, only the southern part of the building is occupied, leaving the northern area partially free for an outdoor rooftop terrace for residents.

On the entrance floor there is a reception area that communicates with the main entrance and has an adjacent living room with capacity to accommodate all visitors and family members.  The common areas house the multipurpose room, gymnasium and occupational therapy, as well as the administrative area and the sanitary area. Opposite this area is a residential area for dependent people.  The access floor also houses the day center, dining room with living room and reading room.

The rest of the residential area is distributed in four upper floors, organized in three different living units, each unit has its own lounges, dining rooms and service areas.

On the first floor there will be storage rooms, utility rooms, kitchen, laundry, staff room and changing rooms, burial and wake rooms (with built-in toilet) and the communication cores that connect the different levels of the building.

The area of the plot not occupied by the building is used for pedestrian and vehicle access, parking, arcades and landscaped areas for residents.

The parking lot consists of 102 parking spaces, as required by the regulations, with 76 surface parking spaces and 26 basement parking spaces.
